Dallas native, Austin Finley, began his hairdressing career at the TONI&GUY Academy when he was 26 years old. Despite the delayed start to his career, he was extremely driven to learn and progress as quickly as he could. A true student of hair, within his first couple of years working on the floor, Austin had completed his student program, teachers program, and within that same time frame had joined the Junior Art Team. He then went on to complete his test-out onto the Main Art Team.
For the next three years, Austin continued to grow in his craft, and soon became the Educational Director of his salon, while also teaching and traveling both nationally and internationally as an educator for TIGI/ TONI&GUY.
In the fifth year of his career, Austin was invited to be a member of the Senior Art Team, and at the end of that year, he had won the Photographic Awards for TONI&GUY’s Hairdresser of the Year. Austin has continued on working and growing with the Art Team, being involved in creative process for the advanced collections for TONI&GUY, as well as the revamp of the TONI&GUY CLASSICS. Austin also continues to work on shooting different ideas and concepts, for which he was nominated as a finalist in 2014 for his Avant Garde work for NAHA in 2014. Austin is currently the National Creative Director for Advanced Education for TONI&GUY, and is still insistently working with other team members, looking for new ways to help drive the industry forward.
